How to Use the Face Scan Age Guesser

Using the Face Scan Age Guesser is quick and easy. Follow these simple steps to see what age AI estimates for your face.

  1. Start the Webcam or Upload an Image
Click the “Start Webcam” button to allow your camera to capture your face in real time. If you prefer, you can upload a photo instead by selecting an image from your device.
  2. Choose a Detection Mode
Select between two scanning modes depending on your needs:
    • Accurate Mode (SSD Mobilenet) – Uses a more advanced model that provides better accuracy when estimating age and detecting faces.
    • Fast Mode (Tiny Face Detector) – Processes images quicker and works well on slower devices, but may be slightly less precise.
  3. Position Your Face Clearly
Make sure your face is well lit and visible. Avoid strong shadows, sunglasses, or objects blocking your face to help the AI model detect your features correctly.
  4. View Your Estimated Age
Once your face is detected, the tool will analyze your facial features and provide an estimated age along with a confidence score. The preview box will also show the face that was analyzed.
  5. Try Different Angles or Photos
For fun, try different lighting conditions, expressions, or older photos to see how the AI’s estimate changes.

Benefits of the Face Scan Age Guesser

The Face Scan Age Guesser is more than just a novelty tool. It demonstrates how modern AI can analyze facial features and estimate age using machine learning models.

How the Age Detection Works

The tool uses machine learning face detection models to locate a face and analyze facial features such as skin texture, structure, and proportions. These features are compared to patterns learned during AI training to estimate an age range.

While the results can sometimes be surprisingly accurate, they are only estimates. Results may vary depending on lighting, image quality, facial expression, and camera angle.

💡 Tip: For best results, use good lighting and face the camera directly.
